Mahela Jayawardene: 'Paul Farbrace departure won't affect Sri Lanka'

Mahela Jayawardene insists that Paul Farbrace's departure will not have a negative impact on Sri Lanka's form.

Mahela Jayawardene has insisted that the departure of former head coach Paul Farbrace will not affect Sri Lanka on the pitch.

Farbrace led the side to the World Twenty20 title before being named as England's new assistant coach in April, but Jayawardene is not worried about the team's preparations ahead of the first of a number of meetings with their former leader later this month.

"I don't think Paul going to England will affect us that much," the 36-year-old told The Mirror. "All the teams know how we play.

"We just have to adapt to the conditions and keep challenging ourselves to do well. I honestly don't think that's going to affect us."

Despite Jayawardene's claims, Kumar Sangakkara has insisted that Farbrace's exit is a big loss for the team.
