Kumar Sangakkara added another impressive milestone to his list of achievements this morning by breaking the record for most dismissals by a wicketkeeper in one-day internationals.
The 37-year-old, who is widely expected to retire from international cricket later this year, surpassed Adam Gilchrist by taking Corey Anderson in the seventh and final one-dayer between Sri Lanka and New Zealand to reach the landmark of 473 dismissals.
Sangakkara also managed to hit his 21st ODI century to set up a 34-run victory for the tourists in Wellington, as Sri Lanka posted a total of 287-6 in the morning session.
New Zealand responded with 253-10 from their first innings as top-scorer Kane Williamson racked up 83 runs, but Shaminda Eranga and Dushmantha Chameera claimed three wickets between them to leave Sri Lanka well in control.
Debutant Dushmantha Chameera also took two wickets for himself, while Nuwan Kulasekara claimed two scalps of his own.
