South Africa have beaten Sri Lanka by 75 runs in the first one-day international between the teams in Colombo.
The Proteas, who won the toss, made 304-5 before they bowled out the Sri Lankans for 229 with around 10 overs remaining.
The highlight of the South African innings was Hashim Amla's 109, while AB de Villiers (75), David Miller (36 not out) and Quinton de Kock (27) also made solid contributions at the crease.
Ajantha Mendis did most of the damage with the ball for the hosts, ending with figures of 3-61.
Kumar Sangakkara top scored for Sri Lanka with 88 when it was their turn out in the middle, but Kusal Perera (34) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (40) were the only other batsmen to make competitive knocks.
Imran Tahir took three wickets for South Africa, while Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel and Ryan McLaren all finished with two wickets apiece.
The teams play the second of three ODIs on Wednesday when they meet in Pallekele.
