Sri Lanka were close to suffering an early loss in their innings, but were saved by DRS as they reached 35-0 before tea against England on day two of the first Test at Lord's.
The tourists took to the bat after England declared on 575-9 following a double century by Joe Root.
It looked to be the perfect start for the hosts when James Anderson appeared to get Dimuth Karunaratne out for an lbw with Sri Lanka on just six runs.
The left-hander called for a review and despite the ball pitching in line and showing no hint of an edge, the system revealed that the ball was just going over the top.
After a potential wobble, Karunaratne and his partner Kaushal Silva made a steady start to their innings, but England should have claimed their first wicket before the end of the afternoon session.
Karunaratne edged through the slips from a Stuart Broad delivery, but both Chris Jordan and Gary Ballance missed the ball as it bobbled for a four.
Silva will return to the crease after tea unbeaten on 16 alongside the opener.
