England have continued their recovery in the first Test match against Sri Lanka at Lord's with a strong morning session on day two, despite the loss of two further wickets.
Picking up from last night on 344-5 Joe Root and Matt Prior's partnership came to an end at the hands of Shaminda Eranga, whose short ball found the top of the Sussex man's bat with Kaushal Silva taking the catch with Prior 14 short of a century.
In came debutant Chris Jordan, who enjoyed his first game with the bat as he hit a quick-fire 19 from the same number of balls before being caught behind off the bowling of Eranga.
Stuart Broad came to the crease and managed a rapid-fire 47, hitting nine sixes before he was dismissed, with Root continuing to tot up runs at the other end.
Root remains not out (152) at lunch, with Liam Plunkett keeping him company as England look to reach the 500-run mark as they currently stand on 473-8.
