Worcestershire claim three-run win after Durham collapse

The hosts were 79 without loss in the 12th over chasing 118.

Worcestershire climbed to second in the Vitality Blast North Group with a dramatic three-run victory over Durham at Emirates Riverside.

Pat Brown held his nerve bowling the final over as Durham, requiring nine having collapsed from 79 without loss to 109 for five, failed to overhaul the Rapids' 117 for eight.

Brown's dismissal of Durham captain Stuart Poynter with three balls remaining, when the target was down to six, proved critical.

Brown finished with two for 21 while Daryl Mitchell took two for 17, including the key wicket of Durham top-scorer D'Arcy Short (42), as the hosts ended on 114 for six.

Leicestershire's good run continued as they claimed a third successive win with a comprehensive 55-run victory over Derbyshire at the County Ground.

Mark Cosgrove led the way with 38 as the Foxes posted 149 for seven from their 20 overs. Captain Colin Ackermann added a valuable 28.

Derbyshire struggled in reply and were never in the contest after slumping to 24 for six. The battled on but were eventually bowled out for 94 in the 19th over.

Ackermann and Gavin Griffiths both claimed three wickets apiece.

South Group leaders Sussex collapsed to a 26-run loss to Surrey at the Kia Oval.

Ollie Pope (48) and Sam Curran (47) scored the bulk of the runs in Surrey's 163 for eight.

The Sharks started positively in reply but lost their final five wickets for just 10 runs.

David Wiese was left unbeaten on 31 while Imran Tahir and Tom Curran finished with three wickets each.
