Pedri has now commented on the ongoing contract negotiations, insisting that everything is moving in the right direction for him to sign a new deal.

Speaking to Sport, Pedri said: "I'm very calm, my agents are handling it, I haven't had any news, everything is going well."

Pedri has registered 23 goals and 15 assists in 160 competitive appearances since joining Barcelona from Las Palmas in September 2019.

Pedri reveals secret behind injury-free season

Pedri has struggled with injuries over the last few years, but he has managed to stay fit for the first three months of the 2024-25 campaign.

The Spaniard has commented on how he has managed to stay fit for a consistent period, revealing that he has found "solutions" to stop a reoccurrence of his previous fitness issues.

"There are many games and you have to find your body," Pedri said. "You have to look for solutions until you find the key. I have found what suits me well and I have the continuity that I have achieved.

"I have found something that suits me physically. I have started enjoying football again."

After featuring in Spain's clash with Switzerland, Pedri will return to Barcelona ahead of Saturday's away league meeting with Celta Vigo.

The Blaugrana are sitting top of the Spanish top flight, with a six-point lead over second-placed Real Madrid, who have a game in hand over their Clasico rivals.
