Laura Trott to support Lizzie Armitstead in Commonwealth Games road race

Laura Trott reveals that she will be cycling in support of England teammate Lizzie Armitstead in the Commonwealth Games road race.

Laura Trott has revealed that she and Dani King will ride in support of Lizzie Armitstead in the road race at the Commonwealth Games.

The 22-year-old defeated King and Armitstead in the British Cycling National Championship road race last month, but Trott has revealed that she will be helping her England teammate win the gold rather than compete herself.

Trott told reporters: "We will give 100% to help Lizzie get the gold medal. We rode that course at last year's nationals, and it is a really hard course and a proper Lizzie course."

Trott won two gold medals at the Olympics in 2012 in the omnium and team pursuit.
