Reports in America claim that Lance Armstrong decides to apologise to Livestrong staff for tarnishing the charity's reputation.

Lance Armstrong has reportedly said sorry to staff at the cancer charity Livestrong following allegations over the last few months that have accused him of doping.

Armstrong was the face of Livestrong for a number of years following his recovery from testicular cancer and he went on to win seven Tour de France titles.

However, having been found guilty of illegally enhancing his performance during that time, Armstrong was stripped of those titles - despite the fact that he strongly denied any wrongdoing.

Over the last few days rumours began to circulate that Armstrong was ready to admit that he had cheated though and an interview with famous chat show shot Oprah Winfrey was arranged for this evening.

Before that meeting, a source told the Associated Press that an emotional Armstrong had visited staff at Livestrong to apologise, while also vowing to restore the charity's reputation.

He then left to film the interview with Oprah in an Austin hotel.
