Sir Dave Brailsford has stepped down as performance director at British Cycling.
Brailsford has brought to an end a 10-year spell at the top of British Cycling, and his resignation allows him to focus on his role at Team Sky.
The 50-year-old told The Guardian: "Sky has got bigger, more global and certainly doesn't leave me a lot of time.
"The thing that I am concerned about is to make sure that the British cycling team is in the best possible shape it could be heading into Rio and that I feel that I'm contributing fully to make sure that happens."
Brailsford's most notable achievements during his spell with British Cycling have seen him lead Team GB to 30 Olympic medals while also guiding Sir Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome to back-to-back Tour de France triumphs.
