Team Sky ended the first day of the Vuelta a Espana in fifth position after a team time trial around the streets of Pamplona.
Chris Froome is the team's main man as Bradley Wiggins has been left out to recover from the Olympics and prepare for next month's Tour of Britain.
Froome, 27, and Team Sky were 12 seconds behind winning team Movistar, who were spearheaded by home favourite Jonathan Castroviejo.
Today's second stage runs over a 181.4km course from Pamplona to Viana.
