Anglesey will host the opening stage of the 2015 Tour of Britain on September 6, organisers have confirmed.
The eight-day race will begin with a stage from Beaumaris to Wrexham, marking the first time the race has started in Wales in its modern history.
The tour then takes in Scotland, Cumbria and Norfolk, before finishing in London on September 13.
"The Tour of Britain will provide us with a massive opportunity to showcase Anglesey and all it has to offer to visitors and a world-wide audience," Anglesey councillor Aled Morris told reporters.
The Tour of Britain has attracted some of cycling's biggest names in recent years, including Mark Cavendish and Bradley Wiggins.
Last year's event was won by Garmin-Sharp's Dutch rider Dylan van Baarle.
