Great Britain's Paralympian Crystal Lane hails her teammate Sarah Storey as the pair prepare to fight for medals in their respective C5 individual pursuit finals.

Great Britain's Paralympic cyclist Crystal Lane has cited compatriot Sarah Storey as one of her 'inspirations' for the Games.

Lane, who was born with an under-developed left arm, will fight for a bronze medal against New Zealand's Fiona Southorn after clinching the fourth-fastest qualifying time in the women's C5 individual pursuit today.

Storey, who is tipped to claim gold in this summer's Games, broke the world record by recording a time of 3:32.170.

"I was really pleased that I got a personal best," said Lane. "That's all I could ask for. I saw Sarah in Beijing. I never realised with a hand like mine that we could even enter the Paralympics.

"I got to know her, she works incredibly hard, she's an incredible athlete and she really inspires me to keep trying and now I'll keep on doing that towards Rio."

The duo will get their medal matches underway from 4.30pm.
