Luis-Leon Sanchez claimed victory from stage 14 of the Tour de France this afternoon.
The Spaniard broke away from the pack with 11km remaining and rarely looked troubled as he crossed the finishing line.
Team Sky's Bradley Wiggins retained the yellow jersey despite suffering a number of punctures along the route. The British rider still holds a lead of over two minutes from the field in the overall standings.
Reigning champion Cadel Evans also suffered a similar fate to Wiggins and was forced to wait for a replacement bike before he could negotiate the route.
BMC rider George Hincapie said this of the problems: "There was something on the road. I've never seen anything like that."
Today's win was the fourth of Sanchez's career on the Tour.
