Luke Littler becomes the youngest player to hit a nine-dart leg at a PDC event by achieving the feat in the Bahrain Masters quarter-finals.

Luke Littler has hit a nine-dart leg in his Bahrain Masters quarter-final against Nathan Aspinall.

The 16-year-old is competing in his first event since marking his debut appearance at the World Championship with a run to the final, where he lost to Luke Humphries.

Littler reached the last eight with an impressive 6-3 win over Man Lok Leung on Thursday, setting up a showdown with a familiar face in Aspinall who he has previously practiced with during his rise to prominence.

History was made in the very first leg as Littler opened with back-to-back 180s before he confidently took out a 141 checkout.

That particular feat was made all the more spectacular by Littler eventually running out a 6-3 victor with an average of 104.5.

In what was a high-quality tussle, Aspinall posted a 100.48 average himself, initially being competitive at 2-2 before he missed a dart for 3-3.

Littler will now square off against Gerwyn Price in the semi-finals later on Friday after the Welshman ended the long televised unbeaten streak of world champion Luke Humphries, prevailing 6-4.
