Mark Webster believes that his career is back on track after beating Raymond van Barnelveld to reach the quarter-finals of the PDC World Championship.

Mark Webster believes that his career is back on track after beating Raymond van Barnelveld to reach the quarter-finals of the PDC World Championship.

The 30-year-old Welshman, who won the BDO's world title in 2008, has struggled to find his best form on the stage in recent years.

He was seeded 26th at the Alexandra Palace, but his world ranking is now set to rocket in the wake of his 4-3 win over 'Barney'.

"I was struggling, trying a bit too hard maybe," Webster told Sky Sports News.

"I'm over the moon and I can't believe I won, but I never stopped believing. My career's back on track and who knows now.

"I'd have kicked myself if I hadn't have won tonight as he wasn't on his game and I took my chance."

Webster will have to beat either Michael van Gerwen or Gary Anderson in order to reach the last four.
