James Wade and Gary Anderson book their places in the PDC World Championship with victories over Mervyn King and Luke Humphries.

James Wade and Gary Anderson have booked their places in the World Championship semi-finals.

Wade, the fourth seed, got the action underway on Saturday afternoon against Mervyn King, his opponent kicking off with an authoritative 11-dart leg.

However, that was as good as it got for the veteran, who squandered opportunities in the opening sets and allowed Wade to cruise to a 5-0 win.

Anderson had to work harder to see off the challenge of Luke Humphries, the 19th seed taking a 1-0 lead and pegging Anderson back at 2-2.

Nevertheless, it was two-time world champion Anderson who held his nerve in the key moments, winning four of his five sets in a deciding leg to eventually prevail by a 5-2 scoreline.

Anderson will meet the winner of the match between Peter Wright and Callan Rydz, while Gerwyn Price or Michael Smith will go up against Wade in Sunday's last four.
