Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch reportedly takes a stance regarding his future at Anfield ahead of 2025.

Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch reportedly takes a specific stance regarding his future at Anfield.

Having not always started during Jurgen Klopp's final year at the club, there was doubt as to whether Gravenberch would be able to become a mainstay in the team under Arne Slot.

However, the 21-year-old has emerged as one of the club's best players of the season, making 21 starts in the Premier League and Champions League.

With Liverpool sitting at the top of both tables, the Merseyside giants naturally want to retain the services of the Netherlands international in the long term.

As per Sky Sport Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg, who was commenting on X, Gravenberch holds a particular view as to where he wishes to spend the next phase of his career.

The 22-year-old is allegedly not prepared to consider a transfer elsewhere during the January or summer transfer window.

No discussions are said to have taken place with regards to a potential exit at a time when Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has been linked with a potential move to Liverpool.

Even if a swap deal became a realistic possibility, it is claimed that Liverpool would not entertain such a proposal.

Gravenberch holds a contract with Liverpool until the end of 2027-28 and is currently earning regular football for the first time since 2021-22.

A no-brainer to stay at Liverpool

There was recently a time when Tchouameni was valued four times greater than Gravenberch in the transfer market. Bayern Munich paid up to €23m for Gravenberch while Real Madrid were prepared to commit to a €100m deal for Tchouameni.

Instead, the tables have arguably turned. Tchouameni has not justified his price-tag at the Bernabeu and Gravenberch has already proven a relative bargain for Liverpool at €40m.

Regardless of Gravenberch not offering a goal threat at Liverpool, he is a key cog under Dutch compatriot Slot and is arguably the third name on the teamsheet behind Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.

With a Premier League and Champions League double a possibility this campaign, all focus is on trying to achieve that goal.
