2015 world champion Gary Anderson has registered a 7-5 triumph over Phil Taylor in his opening match of the Premier League in Leeds.

The first 11 legs went with throw before Anderson capitalised on a missed dart at double top from Taylor to seal the victory.

The performance of the evening came from Adrian Lewis, who averaged just below 114 in trouncing defending champion Raymond van Barneveld by a 7-1 scoreline.

Michael van Gerwen got his campaign off to a winning start with a 7-3 triumph over debutant Kim Huybrechts, but James Wade and Stephen Bunting couldn't be separated after 12 legs.

The first match of the night saw Dave Chisnall take advantage of a disappointing display from Peter Wright to run out a 7-1 victor.
