Raymond van Barneveld edged countryman Michael van Gerwen in a thrilling Grand Slam final to claim his first major title in over 5 years.
The former World champion was a heavy underdog against an in-form Van Gerwen, who thrashed Phil Taylor and Dean Winstanley on his way to the final.
Barney started brightly and hit consistent doubles under pressure in the early stages to build a 5-2 lead.
Van Gerwen stayed in the hunt until the deciding leg but could not match Barney when it mattered, losing to his more experienced opponent 16-14.
The 45-year-old claims a winner's cheque for £100,000 in a competition which features players from the PDC and BDO organisations.
