David Tennant, Catherine Tate to film new scene together

Catherine Tate and David Tennant are reuniting for a new sketch for the BBC's coronavirus telethon Big Night In.

David Tennant and Catherine Tate will reunite for the BBC's Big Night In event next week, it has been confirmed.

The pair previously appeared together as The Doctor and Donna Noble on Doctor Who, while Tennant also appeared in The Catherine Tate Show as a schoolteacher struggling to deal with Tate's Lauren character, famous for the catchphrase "Am I bovvered?"

Now Lauren and her schoolteacher are being revived for a brand new sketch, to be broadcast as part of Big Night In, an evening of live entertainment programming for charity in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

"Catherine Tate and David Tennant will be doing a sketch," host Matt Baker told BBC Breakfast. "We're all into the home schooling thing at the moment so Catherine Tate's school pupil will be taught by David Tennant over video-calling. Who knows what that's going to look like?"

The telethon will also be hosted by Sir Lenny Henry, Davina McCall and Paddy McGuinness, while other confirmed guests include Gary Barlow and Peter Kay.

Big Night In will air next Thursday, April 23 between 7pm and 10pm on BBC One.
