Beverley Callard forced to drop out of I'm A Celebrity?

Coronation Street legend Beverley Callard could reportedly be forced out of appearing on this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! due to injury.

Coronation Street's Beverley Callard may be forced to pull out of a planned appearance on this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The 63-year-old recently revealed that a hip operation gone wrong has left her unable to walk, scuppering plans for her to film her Corrie exit over the summer.

According to The Sun, the soap legend had already agreed to a stint on I'm A Celeb but the physical nature of the show may mean that it is too soon in her recovery for her to take part this year.

"Beverley was signed up for the show when it was still planned to be in Australia," a source told the newspaper.

"She was so excited to be able to come on board. Obviously, with the surgery, she's had complications no-one could have foreseen.

"There's no way she's able to take part in the show and fully experience it. At best, she might have been able to do the smaller tasks.

"But for most of them she'd have to sit out for medical reasons, which is no fun for Bev, nor for viewers."

The new series of I'm A Celebrity begins on ITV in November from its new base of Gwrych Castle in Wales.
