Vernon Kay agrees to appear on I'm A Celebrity?

TV host Vernon Kay reportedly agrees a £250,000 deal to appear in the next series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

TV presenter Vernon Kay is reportedly among the celebrities to have signed up for this year's edition of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The 46-year-old - husband of Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly - has fronted a number of shows for ITV over the years, including All Star Family Fortunes, Beat The Star and Splash!

According to The Mirror, Kay will be switching from host to contestant after agreeing to appear on the new series of I'm A Celebrity, currently due to go ahead in Australia in November.

"Everyone's so pleased to have Vernon on board, he's a lovely guy, full of down-to-earth northern charm and perfect for the show," a source told the newspaper, adding that the deal is worth around £250,000.

Although ITV's Plan A is for the show to go ahead in Australia, a report today has claimed that the broadcaster is looking at a backup option in Scotland should coronavirus mean that travel down under becomes impractical.
