Sky Sports has revealed that it will broadcast this weekend's League One fixture between Wycombe Wanderers and Portsmouth as the EFL's first 'innovation game'.
Coverage of the match, which begins at 11.30am on Sunday on Sky Sports Football, will offer hitherto-unseen enhancements as part of a trial which could signal the future of TV football broadcasts.
Among the innovations are on-pitch audio, dressing-room footage and club figures on co-commentary duties, while Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth and Pompey manager Danny Cowley will speak to the Sky cameras during the half-time break and during the second half itself.
"I think it's a brilliant initiative and we're thrilled that Wycombe Wanderers have been invited to take part in what is a pioneering and potentially game-changing way for football fans to enjoy a live broadcast," said Ainsworth.
"It will help showcase both clubs to a much wider audience and it'll be a fantastic advert for the EFL and League One football, particularly while there's lots of attention on events out in Qatar."
Portsmouth chief exec Andrew Cullen added: "Portsmouth Football Club are delighted to be selected and involved in this innovative broadcast.
"We look forward to providing fans with a closer look at what occurs on a matchday, as well as working in partnership with the EFL to develop new forms of content for broadcasters, supporters and viewers."
The innovation game comes as the EFL decides on its next set of TV rights, for which it is making every single league game available for broadcast for the first time ever.
