Saturday's League One predictions including Lincoln vs. Plymouth

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's League One fixtures, including Lincoln vs. Plymouth.

MK Dons vs. Derby (Saturday, 3.00pm)

MK Dons are seeking to extend an unbeaten run of four games when they welcome Derby County to Stadium MK on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the visitors suffered a 3-2 defeat on penalties against Liverpool in the EFL Cup third round on Wednesday night.

We say: MK Dons 1-1 Derby County

Neither side are in great form coming into this clash, so we are expecting a closely-fought contest at Stadium MK.

Derby know that a win could take them inside the playoff places and they will rightly be favourites here, but it would be foolish to underestimate their opponents despite their league position.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Morecambe vs. Portsmouth (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Morecambe manager Derek Adams pictured on January 10, 2021© Reuters

Morecambe will look to end a five-game winless run in all competitions when they welcome Portsmouth to the Mazuma Stadium on Saturday.

The visitors, meanwhile, will attempt to extend their unbeaten run to six competitive matches, although they have only won one of their last seven League One games.

We say: Morecambe 1-1 Portsmouth

Morecambe have collected four points from their two home games, and we think that they will pick up a point against a Portsmouth side who have drawn four of their last seven league matches.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Oxford Utd vs. Port Vale (Saturday, 3.00pm)

After two consecutive 1-1 draws in the league, Oxford United are aiming to win their first game at home since September when they welcome Port Vale to the Kassam Stadium on Saturday.

The visitors, meanwhile, are looking to get back to winning ways, after losing in dramatic fashion last time out in the FA Cup clash against Exeter City.

We say: Oxford United 0-1 Port Vale

Port Vale have won or drawn four of the last five matches they have played away from home, while Oxford have lost four of the last five fixtures they have hosted at the Kassam Stadium.

The Valiants have also scored in each of their last eight games in all competitions, so we think they will have enough to edge this contest.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Shrewsbury vs. Barnsley (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Shrewsbury Town and Barnsley go head to head on Saturday, with both teams looking to close the gap between themselves and the League One playoff places.

Just one point and two league positions separate the two sides heading into the game in Shropshire.

We say: Shrewsbury Town 1-1 Barnsley

It will be a tough for either team to really get a grip of the game so a tight, cagey draw is expected between two teams with eyes on promotion.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Accrington vs. Sheff Weds (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman pictured in May 2021© Reuters

Accrington Stanley return to League One action this weekend as they welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Wham Stadium on Saturday.

The hosts come into this game fresh off the back of an emphatic FA Cup victory over Crawley Town, while the visitors lost in midweek on penalties against Southampton in the EFL Cup.

We say: Accrington Stanley 0-2 Sheffield Wednesday

Despite the disappointment of tasting defeat on Wednesday night, we believe Sheffield Wednesday will bounce back here and continue to apply pressure to the sides in the automatic promotion spots.

The Owls' away record speaks for itself, and we think they will pick up another three points on the road.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Bristol Rovers vs. Fleetwood (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Bristol Rovers manager Joey Barton pictured in May 2021© Reuters

Bristol Rovers welcome Fleetwood Town to the Memorial Ground for a League One encounter on Saturday afternoon.

Despite both sitting in the bottom half, the two sides are still within a few points of the playoff places.

We say: Bristol Rovers 1-2 Fleetwood Town

There is very little to split the sides in terms of form and league position, but despite Bristol Rovers' excellent offensive output, Fleetwood's strong defence may be able to do a good job on a side littered with injuries.

Another win which saw them score three goals last weekend shows that Fleetwood are improving at the other end too, and Rovers' softness in giving away goals could cost them here.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Burton Albion vs. Charlton (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Burton Albion's Nathan Broadhead celebrates scoring their second goal with teammates on September 25, 2019© Reuters

Burton Albion will be looking to lift themselves off the bottom of the League One table when they welcome Charlton Athletic to the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday.

Burton ended a run of two consecutive defeats last time out when they beat Needham Market in the FA Cup, while Charlton have won their last three games in all competitions and will be aiming to maintain that unbeaten run here.

We say: Burton Albion 0-2 Charlton Athletic

Charlton will be favourites entering this match, and rightly so looking at Burton's form.

We struggle to see the Brewers having any joy against the Addicks, who have the chance to close the gap to the teams in the playoff places.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Cambridge vs. Bolton (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Bolton Wanderers will look to solidify their hold on a League One playoff place with a win at Cambridge United on Saturday.

Wanderers were dumped out of the FA Cup last weekend by fellow promotion rivals Barnsley, whilst the U's were held at sixth-tier Curzon Ashton.

We say: Cambridge United 1-2 Bolton Wanderers

Neither team are in a good run of form at the moment, so it should be a tight affair. Bolton have more talent in their ranks and that is what should pull them through here.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Exeter vs. Peterborough (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Exeter City welcome Peterborough United to the South Coast on Saturday, looking to reignite their League One campaign.

The Grecians sit in 12th position, nine points behind their opponents, who have won all of their three last league games.

We say: Exeter City 1-1 Peterborough United

Caldwell is taking charge of his first home game so will get his players right up for it. Posh are poor away from home, but should still have enough quality to at least equal their hosts.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Forest Green vs. Wycombe (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Wycombe Wanderers' Brandon Hanlan celebrates scoring their first goal on January 11, 2022© Reuters

Lowly Forest Green Rovers welcome Wycombe Wanderers to The New Lawn for a League One clash on Saturday.

The third tier has not been kind to the hosts so far, as Forest Green find themselves in the relegation zone.

We say: Forest Green Rovers 1-2 Wycombe Wanderers

Wycombe will be determined to get their playoff push back on track, and defeat in the FA Cup last week means full focus can be placed on doing so.

Forest Green are struggling to pick up wins and keep clean sheets in League One this season, and may find it tough against opponents who have Championship-level quality in their ranks.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Ipswich vs. Cheltenham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna pictured on December 29, 2021 © Reuters

High-flyers Ipswich Town welcome Cheltenham Town to Portman Road for a League One clash on Saturday afternoon.

Nineteen points separate the sides with the midway point of the campaign on the horizon, meaning very different ambitions for both.

We say: Ipswich Town 2-0 Cheltenham Town

Ipswich have made light work of most sides in the bottom half this season, and with just two defeats all season, a side as out of form as Cheltenham should be an obstacle they can hurdle.

A goal-shy Cheltenham side are unlikely to have enough to trouble an Ipswich side sitting in second place here, unless they can get Alfie May back quick and firing.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Lincoln vs. Plymouth (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Plymouth Argyle manager Steven Schumacher on February 5, 2022© Reuters

League One leaders Plymouth Argyle will look to continue their impressive start to the season at Lincoln City on Saturday.

Plymouth sit four points clear at the top of the table, but they suffered a humiliating defeat at Grimsby Town in the FA Cup last weekend, while Lincoln lost at National League South side Chippenham Town at the same time.

We say: Lincoln City 1-2 Plymouth Argyle

Lincoln have been very tricky to beat this season, and are on a high after the midweek result. Plymouth are on a roll in the league and, if the defeat at Grimsby does not play on their minds too much, they should have enough to get by the Imps.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.
