Marseille's European hopes have taken a blow after a 1-0 defeat at struggling Ajaccio.
Brandao was guilty of wasting two good chances for the visitors in the opening 20 minutes when he put a header and a shot wide.
The hosts could have taken the lead towards the end of the half, but Johan Cavalli's effort was saved by Steve Mandanda.
Cavalli was foiled by the Marseille goalkeeper again at the start of the second half before Jordan Ayew's shot was tipped away at the other end.
As both sides pushed for a winner, it was the home side who made the decisive breakthrough when Benjamin Andre struck with just a minute of time to play.
