Liverpool forward Luis Diaz reportedly makes a crucial decision over his future amid speculation linking him with a move to Barcelona.

Liverpool forward Luis Diaz reportedly has no plans to leave the club despite being linked with a potential move to Barcelona.

The Catalan giants still hold an interest in the Colombia international after they were linked with his signature in the summer transfer window.

A recent report claimed that Diaz could look to leave Liverpool next summer following a lack of progress in contract negotiations.

The two parties have seemingly been in discussion over a new and improved deal to extend Diaz's stay beyond the end of his current contract which is set to expire in 2027.

Diaz happy with life at Anfield

While there has been uncertainty surrounding Diaz's future, journalist Florian Plettenburg is reporting that he is not planning a move away from Anfield in the near future.

The update claims that there are 'no ongoing talks' with other clubs about a potential transfer despite the reported interest from Barcelona.

In fact, the former Porto forward is said to be 'very comfortable' with his current situation at Anfield, pouring cold water over any speculation about his future.

Diaz has supposedly struck up a strong relationship with head coach Arne Slot, who replaced long-time Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp at the end of last season.

Diaz's importance to Liverpool

The attacker scored 13 goals and provided five assists in 51 competitive appearances during Klopp's final season in the Liverpool dugout.

Diaz is already close to surpassing those numbers this season, having registered 11 goals and three assists in 23 matches in all competitions.

The Colombian produced a spectacular performance in Sunday's thrilling victory over Tottenham Hotspur, netting a brace to help his side clinch a 6-3 win in North London.

Those sorts of displays are the reason why Diaz is now viewed as an integral part of the Liverpool side, making the probability of a departure even less likely.

The forward could get the opportunity to continue his fine form when Liverpool welcome Leicester City to Anfield on Boxing Day.

Liverpool will head into that match as the Premier League leaders, having established a four-point lead at the top of the table.
