Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has tested positive for coronavirus ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Despite being frozen out of the Gunners squad after being stripped of the captaincy, Aubameyang was called up to the Gabon team for this year's continental tournament.
However, Gabon's preparations for the tournament have taken an early hit with Aubameyang returning a positive coronavirus test alongside Mario Lemina and assistant coach Anicet Yala upon arrival in Cameroon.
Aubameyang's national team are due to kick off their AFCON tournament against the Comoros on January 10 before facing Ghana four days later and rounding off Group C against Morocco on January 18.
The 32-year-old previously tested positive for COVID-19 in August before the start of the new Premier League season and was also hospitalized with malaria in April.
Aubameyang has been strongly linked with an exit from the Emirates in January, and the Gunners are supposedly open to bids for their exiled former captain.
