UEFA to delay Euro 2020 by one year?
UEFA is reportedly planning to delay Euro 2020 by one year as the coronavirus outbreak continues to impact the world of sport.

Euro 2020 could reportedly be postponed by one year in response to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

COVID-19 has already has a profound impact on the footballing world, with several matches either postponed or teams forced to play behind closed doors as the virus sweeps across the globe.

According to The Mirror, UEFA bosses have forged together a plan to scrap this summer's tournament in favour of rescheduling domestic matches that have been affected by the outbreak.

Serie A and La Liga have both been suspended, and while the Premier League earlier said that all of this weekend's matches would go ahead as planned, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta's positive test result will see the league hold a meeting on Friday to decide on future fixtures.

The report also claims that UEFA's plan would also allow matches in the Champions League and Europa League to be completed, with both competitions also at risk of being postponed.

Arteta's positive status comes after Manchester City's Benjamin Mendy has been forced to self-isolate, while former Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini confirmed that he tested positive for the virus earlier on Thursday.
