Arsene Wenger: 'Manchester United win gives us huge boost'

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that his side will gain a huge boost in confidence following their FA Cup victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger feels that his side's victory over Manchester United will provide them with a major lift going into their remaining matches this season.

The Gunners reached the last four of the FA Cup courtesy of a 2-1 win over the Red Devils at Old Trafford as Danny Welbeck's second-half strike proved to be the difference between the teams.

Wenger believes that the win will give his team a boost in confidence in their quest to finish in the top four of the Premier League and to keep their Champions League hopes alive against Monaco.

He told the club's official website: "Every win makes you stronger and you could see the fact that we have won at Manchester City certainly helped us to deal with the other part of the game.

"When you win in the big games it's more [of a mental boost]. We know we have the football to go with it but the belief is important as well."

Arsenal will face either Bradford City or Reading in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
