Thierry Henry: Aston Villa crowd "a burden"

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry believes that Aston Villa supporters can be a bit of a "burden" for Remi Garde's side when they go behind in games.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry believes that Aston Villa supporters can be a bit of "burden" for Remi Garde's side.

The Gunners travel to Villa Park this afternoon having not beaten Arsene Wenger's side at home for 17 years, and Henry said that the club's fans do not help during difficult periods.

"I compare [Villa Park] to Goodison Park and if we went there early in the season we were fine, but if we went there later on and it was windy and it was rainy they would make it difficult for us," Henry told Sky Sports News.

"Going to Villa Park, they have an amazing atmosphere, but most of the time when we go 1-0 up, the fans turned on them and weren't really supporting them and that was the difference.

"Although we played great at times at Goodison, the fans were still behind them and were supporting and sometimes you find at Villa Park, when they are not playing well, the fans are a bit of a burden for them."

Villa are currently bottom of the Premier League table with six points.
