Arsene Wenger has insisted that he will continue to play Aaron Ramsey on the right, despite the midfielder preferring to play in the centre.
The 24-year-old, who has recently missed time with a hamstring injury, scored 18 goals playing in a more central role for the Gunners two years ago.
The manager told reporters: "I use Ramsey on the right. That's where I will certainly continue to use him, unless the game demands to attack. He is more an offensive player. He is not a tactical, defensive player.
"I will use him sometimes [centrally], when the game demands. I used him on the right because he gives us a balance because we have [Mesut] Ozil, who is an offensive player, we have Sanchez, we have [Olivier] Giroud or [Theo] Walcott and [Santi] Cazorla, so we need to balance a bit defensively.
"He can do it, but he can do it with Coquelin. And Cazorla can do it with Coquelin. But Cazorla and Ramsey is a bit too adventurous!"
Arsenal face Norwich City in the Premier League on Sunday.
