Arsene Wenger has revealed that he will not concern himself with the speculation surrounding his future as Arsenal boss.
The 61-year-old has endured some criticism after the Gunners' lacklustre start to the season. However, the club’s chief executive Ivan Gazidis has insisted that the Frenchman’s job is safe at the helm of the Premier League side.
Despite the vote of confidence, Wenger is not willing to be drawn on the rumours surrounding his position.
“Whether I work here for the next 10 years for the club or the next day, I will let others assess the situation,” said Wenger. “I focus on doing well for the club.
"And I must tell you something, I'm not bothered at all by all this speculation, not at all.
"My record? I have just managed 14 years at this club and I have kept them 14 years in the Champions League and I wish it lasts another 14 years.”
Arsenal managed to secure their place in the next round of the Carling Cup after defeating Shrewsbury 3-1 at the Emirates.
