Arsene Wenger yet to make a decision on new Arsenal contract

Arsene Wenger says that he will wait to see how well Arsenal do this season before deciding on whether to sign a new contract at the Emirates.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has suggested that he could leave the Gunners when his contract runs out by claiming that he will wait to see how well his team do this season.

The Frenchman will come to the end of his current deal next June, but the 63-year-old, who was present at the unveiling of £42.5m signing Mesut Ozil today, has insisted that he is not considering his future just yet.

"We are not in a hurry," Wenger said in a press conference. "My contract finishes in June, it is September now. That is a long way to go.

"There is no need to plan, I want to do well for this club. At the end I will sit down and think how well I did with the team I had and that will be sufficient for me to say yes or no."

The Gunners have not won a trophy in eight years, but Ozil has claimed today that the North London outfit are capable of clinching the Premier League title.
