Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has reportedly edged closer to making the switch to Premier League outfit Arsenal.
The Gunners have been in the running for the French international since the end of the season, and it appears that the saga may be coming to a close.
According to The Sun, Arsene Wenger has decided to pay £50m in order to take the 26-year-old to the Emirates Stadium, and Lyon are seemingly ready to give the green light for the transfer to go ahead.
They have been in negotiations with Chelsea attacker Bertrand Traore and with a £16.6m deal said to be agreed, he will act as Lacazette's replacement.
If and when the two transfers are made official, that could have ramifications for Olivier Giroud, who is likely to be free to leave the North London club after dropping further down the pecking order.
It has been suggested that he could made the £20m switch to West Ham United after netting 98 goals during five seasons with Arsenal.
