Arsenal and Barcelona reportedly moot the idea of a swap deal involving right-backs Hector Bellerin and Emerson Royal.

Arsenal could reportedly look to strike a swap deal with Barcelona involving Hector Bellerin and Emerson Royal.

Bellerin has lost his place as Arsenal's first-choice right-back to Calum Chambers in recent months and is supposedly willing to take a pay cut to force an exit from the Emirates this summer.

With a move to Inter Milan seemingly dead in the water following the Nerazzurri's swoop for Denzel Dumfries, Barcelona are thought to be in pole position to bring the Spaniard back to Camp Nou.

According to The Athletic, a swap deal with the Blaugrana involving 22-year-old Emerson has been mooted, although the two sides are not in advanced talks over such a proposal.

Emerson has returned to Barcelona after a stint with Real Betis, but he is seemingly fighting an uphill battle to displace Sergino Dest as Ronald Koeman's first-choice right-back.

The Brazilian's existing deal with Barcelona does not expire until 2024, while Bellerin's Arsenal contract runs until the summer of 2023.
