Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour says that there will be plenty of takers for Danny Welbeck if the Gunners decide to sell the forward.

Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour believes that there will be plenty of takers for Danny Welbeck if the Gunners decide to sell the forward in this summer's transfer window.

Welbeck, 27, has played over 100 times for Arsenal since a 2014 move from Manchester United, and he enjoyed his best scoring season for the club last term.

The England international is reportedly surplus to requirements under new Arsenal boss Unai Emery, however, and could leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Parlour has claimed that there will be plenty of clubs looking at Welbeck if he is indeed available for £15m.

"I think people forget he's only 27. He should be in his prime now, he needs to play on a regular basis and whether he's going to get that opportunity, I don't think he will at Arsenal with the players in front of him," Parlour told talkSPORT.

"With the money bounding around now for players, like £50m-plus for not brilliant players, but average players, then £15m you'd think: 'I'd take that chance.'

"I think he's great for the dressing room. I think he's a real lively guy, Danny... so he can bring that to the team as well. But I think that so many clubs would be in for Danny Welbeck."

Welbeck scored 10 times in 43 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions last term.
