Aston Villa defender James Collins is expected to snub a move to Swansea City because he is not prepared to take a pay cut.
Swans boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring in another central defender in the summer, with loanee Steven Caulker poised to return to Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season.
Collins has one year remaining on his current contract at Villa Park and had reportedly been targeted by Rodgers.
However, the Welsh club's strict wage structure would force the 28-year-old to significantly lower his weekly income, something that the player is unwilling to do, according to The Mirror.
Collins has made 28 Premier League appearances for Villa this season and has scored one goal.
