Report: Jordan Amavi closing on Aston Villa switch

Aston Villa will reportedly complete a £10m deal for Nice's Jordan Amavi this weekend.

Aston Villa are reportedly close to completing a deal to sign Jordan Amavi from French club Nice.

The West Midlands outfit saw captain Fabian Delph join Manchester City on Friday, having previously pledged his future to the club, while Christian Benteke is expected to join Liverpool in the coming days.

However, the Birmingham Mail claims that Tim Sherwood could be about to add French defender Amavi to his squad, with a £10m deal due to be completed over the weekend.

Is it thought that once the minor details of the transfer are finalised, the 21-year-old will report for training at Bodymoor Heath next week alongside fellow new signing Idrissa Gueye.

Villa played out a goalless draw in their pre-season friendly with Braga on Friday.
