Ernesto Valverde pleased with point

Athletic Bilbao boss Ernesto Valverde says that his side "were made to suffer" in their goalless draw with Celta Vigo on Monday.

Athletic Bilbao boss Ernesto Valverde has admitted that his side "were made to suffer" in their goalless draw with Celta Vigo on Monday evening.

Bilbao rode their luck for long spells under serious Celta pressure, but Valverde insists that he was content with a point from their trip.

"We worked hard to get this draw," Valverde told reporters at a press conference.

"It's true that in the second half there was a period when we looked close to scoring but it is also true that in the first half it was Celta who looked like scoring.

"We haven't had our best day and we were made to suffer."

Bilbao remain in fourth spot in the table, while Celta sit 11th.
