Gabi calls for Atletico Madrid calm

Atletico Madrid captain Gabi calls on his team to remain 'calm' after suffering their first defeat of the season to Sevilla at the weekend.

Atletico Madrid captain Gabi has called on his team to remain 'calm' after suffering their first defeat of the season at the weekend.

An impressive start to the campaign saw Atletico top La Liga, but they have since dropped into fifth position after losing 1-0 to Sevilla at the weekend, which was their first defeat of the season.

Diego Simeone's side are just three points behind the leaders Real Madrid, however, and Gabi has called on Atletico to "move on" from the setback at the Estadio Ramon.

"If you are not decisive in these evenly balanced games then in the end you pay for it. The team played the same way as always, but we are leaving annoyed with the defeat," Gabi told reporters. "You must congratulate Sevilla - they won as they were better in front of goal. We just move on, stick to our path, and aim to win the next game."

Atletico have also won all three of their Champions League group matches this season.
