Carlos Alberto Parreira: 'Brazil don't need Diego Costa'

Brazil technical director Carlos Alberto Parreira dismisses the importance of Diego Costa's allegiance to Spain.

Brazil technical director Carlos Alberto Parreira has said that the Selecao have moved on from Diego Costa after the Atletico Madrid striker opted to represent Spain.

The Los Rojiblancos forward is expected to turn out for Spain at this summer's World Cup after declaring for La Roja instead of the Brazilian side last year.

Parreira told reporters: "He made his decision and we have to respect it. He is not a Brazilian player any more. He made his decision to play for Spain, but Brazil will survive without him, don't worry.

"He is a good player, we would like to have him but we are not going to be crying and say how we miss him. There is life after him."

Costa has scored 21 goals this season for Atleti.
