Thomas Partey "so happy" at Atletico Madrid

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey plays down suggestions that he could leave Atletico Madrid by revealing that he is "so happy in Madrid".

Thomas Partey has played down suggestions that he could leave Atletico Madrid by revealing that he is "so happy in Madrid".

The 24-year-old has been in impressive form for Atletico this season, scoring five times in 46 appearances in all competitions.

A number of Premier League clubs are believed to be monitoring the midfielder, and despite revealing his fondness for the English game, Thomas has insisted that he is not looking to leave the Wanda Metropolitano.

"I don't really read too much into what the media say regarding me moving, I leave that all to my management but of course everybody knows the English game is one of the best in the world," Thomas told The Independent.

"I have played in their stadiums twice already this season at Stamford Bridge and at the Emirates and I know how the atmosphere is but at the minute I am so happy in Madrid. I get to train under [Diego] Simeone and he trusts me so I can not ask more at the minute and I am enjoying my football in every game."

Atletico will look to book their spot in the Europa League final when they welcome Arsenal to Madrid for the second leg of their semi-final on Thursday night.
