Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger denies that the club are close to signing Atletico Mineiro attacker Bernard.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has denied that Atletico Mineiro attacker Bernard will undergo a medical with the club on Friday.

Reports in France had claimed that the 20-year-old, who is a Brazilian international, was close to completing a move to the Gunners.

However, Wenger told reporters at a press conference on Monday that such reports were untrue.

"That report is not true," said the Frenchman.

Arsenal continued their pre-season preparations with a 3-1 win over Nagoya Grampus on Monday.
