Manuel Neuer: 'Past victories over Barcelona count for nothing'

Manuel Neuer insists that Bayern Munich's victories over Barcelona in 2013 will count for nothing in the Champions League semi-finals.

Manuel Neuer has claimed that past performances will count for nothing when Bayern Munich take on Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals.

Bayern cruised to an emphatic 7-0 triumph over two legs at the same stage in 2013 before clinching the trophy with a win over Borussia Dortmund in the final, but Neuer insists that the squad will not look back at those games.

"We were always going to be drawn against a big name. There are no easy opponents in the semis, it's all or nothing as of now," the goalkeeper told reporters.

"We enjoyed it in the 2013 semi-finals against Barcelona and won both games comfortably, but it's a completely new situation now and we'll need two top performances if we're to make the final."

Bayern will travel to Camp Nou on May 6 before hosting the second leg six days later.
