Barcelona midfielder Xavi says that small details will decide Tuesday's "brutal" Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich.

Barcelona playmaker Xavi has said that Tuesday's Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich will be "brutal".

The two sides are runaway leaders in their respective leagues and are arguably the two most dominant sides in Europe at the moment.

"Tuesday will be brutal," Xavi, 33, is quoted as saying by TZ.

"Munich is a city that lives for football. They have one of the most important stadiums in the world, but in the end, of course, we want to be playing in the grand final at Wembley."

He acknowledged the blistering form of the German side, who have already sewn up the Bundesliga crown and won their last two matches 6-1.

"They are currently in a stratospheric form," the Spaniard added.

"But in the Champions League the smallest details decide games. We will do everything we can to achieve a good result in Munich."

The two clubs last met competitively in the 2008-09 quarter-finals and it was Barca who triumphed 5-1 on aggregate after four goals in the first half of the first leg in Catalonia.
