Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta admits that he hopes teammate David Villa does not leave the Camp Nou in January.

Barcelona midfielder David Villa has revealed that he regards David Villa as a "fundamental player" for the club.

Villa has been linked with a move away from the Camp Nou after starting just six games this season, but Iniesta has insisted that despite the striker's lack of time on the pitch, he is still rated as an important player for the La Liga leaders.

Iniesta told reporters: "I don't know if the possibility exists, I don't think so.

"Personally I wouldn't like it because David Villa is a fundamental player."

Villa was linked with a move to Chelsea earlier this week.
