Juan Ignacio Martinez delighted with three points

Real Valladolid boss Juan Ignacio Martinez praises his side following Saturday's 1-0 win over Barcelona.

Juan Ignacio Martinez has praised his Real Valladolid team following Saturday's 1-0 win over Barcelona.

Fausto Rossi's first-half strike secured all the points for the home side, who moved out of the relegation zone in the process.

"I agree Barca didn't play well but we deserve some credit for that. We closed all their attacking options," Martinez told reporters at a press conference.

"This is a very satisfying win. Our opponent was very difficult. But don't forget it is only three points and we have to add many more.

"I'm very happy for the fans. They understand that the team has put in a huge effort and the club has been in difficult situations and have made a fight of [the relegation battle]. This win has to give us a little bit more belief."

Valladolid had previously lost their last eight games with Barcelona.
