Lionel Messi plays down vomit incident

Lionel Messi plays down fears over his health after vomiting on the field during Argentina's draw with Romania.

Lionel Messi has alleviated fears surrounding his health after vomiting on the pitch during Argentina's 0-0 draw with Romania on Wednesday.

The Barcelona ace appeared to be physically sick on the field after only seven minutes of play in the stalemate in Bucharest, prompting speculation that the 26-year-old was ill.

However, Messi, who suffered a similar incident in a World Cup qualifier with Bolivia last March, insists that there is nothing to worry about.

He told TyC Sports: "It happens to me all the time. It has happened various times with the club too. It is not anything that has not happened before."

The Argentine also experienced a brief vomiting episode during a Supercopa tie with Real Madrid in August 2011.
