Bayern Munich's Pep Guardiola angry with Barcelona board

Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola launches an attack on Barcelona's board following their actions during his sabbatical from football last season.

Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola has criticised his former club Barcelona for going against his wishes after he left the Spanish outfit in 2012.

The Catalan left the club on amicable terms stating that he needed a break from the game after four years at Camp Nou that saw them win 14 trophies.

However, Guardiola, who is now coach of Bayern, told reporters that Barca did not keep their promise of leaving him alone during his sabbatical from football.

"I told [president Sandro Rossell and his directors] I was going 6,000km away and asked them to leave me in peace, but they haven't kept their word," said Guardiola.

"I want them to get on with the job and I wish them all the success in the world because their success will also be mine.

"I did my time [at Barcelona], then decided to leave. I don't need to say what I feel for this club. I just ask the board to go their own way and leave me alone and stop using me and my friends to hurt me."

Guardiola takes over at Bayern after the club completed a historic treble last season under Jupp Heynckes.
